I strive to create a supportive space for clients to engage in healing and personal growth and offer a caring and honest approach to facilitating change and self-discovery by providing thought-provoking questions and new perspectives to a client's problems. I believe that the relationship between an individual and therapist is the foundation for a successful treatment experience and I will work with you to mobilize your capacity for healing and self-care.

Areas of Practice
SUPPORTIVE THERAPY
Many people enter therapy looking for a safe and supportive space to work through challenges. I provide my clients with unconditional positive regard and utilize talk-therapy to support clients in identifying their wants and needs, and in moving towards goals. Rather than give advice, I listen closely, ask questions, and take different perspectives to allow clients to find confidence in their own solutions.
COUPLES COUNSELING
When working with couples, I operate from attachment theory, which is effective because it moves us away from who is right and wrong and closer to understanding each person’s past life experiences and how they are being triggered. Conflict between couples is so often fueled by pain we carry from childhood and earlier relationships. Working from this deeper level decreases defensiveness and improves communication and compassion. Not all couples who come to me for counseling are in crisis. Some pairs really enjoy therapy as a space to focus on the health of their relationship and to maintain and strengthen their bond. I strive to meet couples wherever they are and help them find ways to arrive where they want to be.
Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)
Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) is a type of therapy that allows individuals to resolve current negative self-beliefs. EMDR can treat Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder as well as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and many other issues. EMDR works by exploring the origin of the negative belief and uses bilateral stimulation to trigger the brains healing mechanisms- moving people to peace, strength, and resolution.
