Suzanne Bartholomew, LCSW
I began my counseling career working in substance abuse treatment, first with adolescents and later with adults. I gained experience not only with addiction but also all of the underlying issues that lead individuals towards the need to escape. I realized that emotional pain is the engine behind addiction and needs to be treated with as much attention as the cessation of the undesirable behavior. I received training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) to adequately address the co-occurance of substance abuse disorder and Post-Tramuatic-Stress-Disorder. Becoming an EMDR-trained therapist propelled me into private practice so that I could focus exclusively on individuals’ clinical needs.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Texas.
